Fly Dubai Launches Inaugural Flight to Entebbe

Fly Dubai yesterday launched its inaugural flight into Entebbe International Airport.

The inaugural flight to Entebbe International Airport was witnessed by Uganda’s Minister for Works Abraham Biyandala and Fly Dubai’s Chief Commercial Officer Hamad Obaidalla. The low cost carrier will be flying seven times a week from Entebbe International Airport to Dubai.

Speaking at the launch in Entebbe, Hamad Obiadalla the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer,  said the launch of the daily flights into Dubai will help the business community in Uganda to bring in goods at a low cost. He also explained that Fly Dubai will help in boosting the country’s tourism because of the affordable flight tickets.

Uganda’s Works Minister Abraham Byandala said the launch of daily flights into Dubai illustrates the beginning of a relationship between Fly Dubai and the people of Uganda. He said the low cost carrier will enable the youths to travel to the Middle East to search for jobs and also boost trade between Dubai and Uganda.

Byandala said the daily flights will help Ugandan businessmen to transport commodities from Dubai to Entebbe at a low cost.

In a related development, Byandala said Government is in the final stage of signing an agreement with Zim Bank of China to finance the expansion of Entebbe International Airport. He says areas that will be expanded include runways, aprons, storage and terminals.

Fly Dubai charges USD 399 for economy Class return fares from Entebbe to Dubai including 20kg checked while Business Class return fares will start at USD 1,100 and 40kg checked baggage.
