Arusha-The East African Legislative assembly wants the region to prioritise harmonization of investment initiatives and incentives if the bloc is to be promoted as a single investment area. To this end, EALA is calling for the formulation of an advocacy plan to spur investment policy and strategy as well as enactment of a regional law on investments. Kampala – British Airways has announced the suspension of flights between Entebbe International Airport and Heathrow, London. British Airways in a communication issued this week states that the current flights between Entebbe and Heathrow are not “commercially viable”. The suspension starts in October this year. British Airways has been flying four times a week on the route. “We are suspending our four times a week service from London Heathrow to Entebbe from October 2, 2015. The last service will depart Entebbe on Saturday October 3, 2015. Oman’s biggest sovereign Wealth Fund, the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF) has opened a new office in Tanzania.

SGRF office was formed in Jan 2015 and legally registered under the name of “Onyx Stone Company Limited”. The new office will be run by Mohamed Al Tooqi as the Country Manager in order to capitalize on the growing opportunities in Sub-Saharan Countries.

By Joseph Elunya Fly Dubai yesterday launched its inaugural flight into Entebbe International Airport. The inaugural flight to Entebbe International Airport was witnessed by Uganda’s Minister for Works Abraham Biyandala and Fly Dubai’s Chief Commercial Officer Hamad Obaidalla. The low cost carrier will be flying seven times a week from Entebbe International Airport to Dubai.
