Bangui Saturday June 28, 2014-The Ugandan army has deployed dogs in its hunt for the reclusive Lord’s Resistance Army rebel leader Joseph Kony.

The Ugandan army is part of the regional force that is hunting for the indicted Lord’s Resistance Army rebel leaders in the Central African Republic. In its latest effort the force has deployed a canine unit to help in tracking the rebels.

Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda the Army and Ministry of Defense Spokesperson confirmed to The Continent Observer that the army has deployed dogs as part of its effort in tracking the rebels in the jungles of Central African Republic-CAR.

Ankunda explains the rebels have splinted into smaller groups make it hard for the regional forces to track them.

The Ugandan army believes a larger group of LRA rebels has since relocated to neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.
