On Friday 8th November, 2013, A Ghanaian deputy minister for communication was fired by president Mahama for aiming for $1m (£600,000) illegal profiteering.

Ms Victoria Hammah was quickly fired because she was caught gossiping on tape that her main aim in politics is to get this meagre amount of money. The tape was secretly recorded by her driver. About 24 hours when the tape was leaked, the president did not hesitate to fire Victoria without any forensic investigation or authenticity of the tape. But her voice has been actually recognised and it would be very difficult for victoria to defend this claim.

Most Ghanaians thought it was a good step in the right direction to sack the minister in order to fight against corruption which has become rampant in Africa as a whole. The minister added further that if she has such money, she could control people. Victoria again mentioned some big names that influenced the Supreme Court election petition case.
