Former Uganda’s Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has picked nomination papers to challenge President Yoweri Museveni in the 2016 national elections. Amama Mbabazi who was accompanied by his wife Jacqueline picked the forms on Monday morning from the offices of the National Electoral Commission. Amama who has previously made known his presidential through the social media posted this shortly on his facebook page. “This morning, my wife Jacqueline and I fulfilled the first step towards nominations as Presidential Candidate in the Presidential elections for 2016, by picking up nomination forms in person”. Uganda’s Former Prime Minister to Challenge President Museveni

By Joseph Elunya in Kampala President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s long time confidant Amama Mbabazi has declared his the intention to challenge him in the 2016 presidential elections. Mbabazi who was sacked last year by his boss President Museveni for allegedly nursing presidential ambitions says he will contest in the 2016 elections on the ruling NRM party ticket. He says he will first contest in the party’s primary elections that are scheduled for August and then later stand in the presidential elections.
