The Uganda People’s Defence Forces serving under the African Union Regional Task Force (AU – RTF) in Central African Republic has on June 21, 2015 seized weapons from the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). The force operating North East of Sam Ouandja in Central Africa unearthed thirty pieces of Sub Machine guns and twenty seven AK – 47 empty magazines that had been buried by the LRA fleeing from UPDF hot pursuit. “Considering the fact that the rebels are already experiencing scarcity of arms, this is a big achievement and, no doubt, their combat capacity will never be the same. Ugandan Army Deploys Dogs to Hunt Kony

Bangui Saturday June 28, 2014-The Ugandan army has deployed dogs in its hunt for the reclusive Lord’s Resistance Army rebel leader Joseph Kony. The Ugandan army is part of the regional force that is hunting for the indicted Lord’s Resistance Army rebel leaders in the Central African Republic. In its latest effort the force has deployed a canine unit to help in tracking the rebels. Lt. Col. Kampala-Fugitive Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony has written to the Government of Uganda demanding for fresh peace talks Kony who has a US$5m cash bounty over his head for crimes against humanity says he and his Lord’s Resistance Army rebels are still committed to seeking a peaceful means to resolve the two decades old conflict. The fugitive in an email to the Ugandan media blames the Government of Uganda for the failed peace talks. 100 US Congress Members Sign Anti-Kony Letter to Obama
