Uganda Speaks Over None Payment of Soldiers in Somalia

Kampala-Uganda says it’s not to blame over delays in payment of troops serving under African Mission in Somalia-AMISOM. The Ugandan troops who are deployed to fight Alshabab militias have spent more than five months without pay. The Army and Ministry of  Defense Spokesperson, Lt. Col Paddy Ankunda confirmed to The Continent Observer in an email to the The Continent Observer esplained that Uganda is not responsible for the delay in the payment of salaries for the troops. “Whereas it is true that the soldiers had not received their five month AMISOM allowances, it is as a result of procedural impediment beyond the control of UPDF and Uganda as a whole”.Lt.
