Ugandans Mourning as Bodies of Fallen UPDF Soldiers are Brought Back

Kampala-Families in Uganda are mourning their sons who were killed in fighting between the Ugandan army and South Sudanese rebels. Families from various parts of Uganda have begun receiving bodies of dead soldiers a week after they were killed in a fierce gun battle in South Sudan. The soldiers are reported to have been killed early this week when they fell into an ambush in a place called Jemeza, 90 kilometers from Juba. Armed Youths Advance to South Sudan’s Jonglei State Capital

Juba-A large number of armed youth are reported to be advancing towards Jonglei the State capital of Bor. The United Nations Mission in South Sudan-UNMISS reports that the group has been moving across the state for some time now, with a possible intention of attacking other communities. “UNMISS has been tracking reports of the movement of armed youths for several days but cannot independently confirm the size or location of these groupings. The Mission is conducting an aerial reconnaissance flight over Jonglei today to get a clearer idea of the numbers of armed youths and the direction in which they are headed”.
