Uganda is Fairing Well at EAC Military Games

‘Team Uganda’ (UPDF) that left for Zanzibar on August 18, 2014 to participate in the EAC Military games and culture events 2014 has started the competition on a high note with four wins, one draw and one loss in the games played. The competition that was officially opened on August 20, 2014 has seen the UPDF netball team that played on August 22, 2014 beat Kenya Defence Forces team 30-28. She is one of the few lucky farmers whose farm produce is sold directly to consumers in Southern Sudan. President Yoweri Museveni has called on all Ugandans to embrace the National Population and Housing Census exercise that is slated to commence on 28th August to 6th September 2014. The President was addressing the nation this morning at State House, Nakasero over the forthcoming Census exercise. Kampala-Uganda says it’s not to blame over delays in payment of troops serving under African Mission in Somalia-AMISOM. The Ugandan troops who are deployed to fight Alshabab militias have spent more than five months without pay. The Army and Ministry of  Defense Spokesperson, Lt. Bangui Saturday June 28, 2014-The Ugandan army has deployed dogs in its hunt for the reclusive Lord’s Resistance Army rebel leader Joseph Kony. The Ugandan army is part of the regional force that is hunting for the indicted Lord’s Resistance Army rebel leaders in the Central African Republic. Kampala-A civilian has been shot and killed by a member of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces. Lochur Lowuta a former resident of Kalapata in the north eastern district of Kaabong, was shot dead on Monday morning by a UPDF soldier identified as Pte. Ochan Tabu. Kampala-Uganda has scoffed at the US Government over sanctions. The United States Government this week slapped sanctions on Uganda over its anti-gay legislation. The sanctions include travel ban for corrupt Ugandan government officials and suspension of joint military exercises. Government of Uganda to Increase Teachers Pay

Kampala-The Government of Uganda will in the next financial year increase the salary of primary school teachers. This is contained in the2014/2015 budget proposal read by Minister of Finance, Dr Maria Kiwanuka on Thursday at the International Conference Center in Kampala. Kiwanuka while reading the 2014/15 budget on Thursaday at Serena International Conference Centre said government had allocated Shs1, 699.4 billion to the education sector in the next financial year to enhance the quality of education. “I have allocated Shs 450 billion to enhance the salary of all Public Servants.
